The hidden modulators in Massive

The hidden modulators in Massive – the internal envelopes.

Here’s a quick thing you might have missed in the manual!

You may have noticed when using the LFO’s in Massive the internal envelopes, but never really sure what they do or how they work.

Also if you had explored the various tabs above the modulators the same thing inside the OSC tab

You’ll notice to the right of the words ‘internal envelope’ the same cross icon you find on the other modulators.

I’m sure a penny has dropped here – click and drag this to modulate items in the same tab… for example on the LFO you can modulate rate, amp and xfade and on the OSC tab you can modulate the rate and depth of vibrato. Instead of a coloured number you will get a little blue ‘AD’.

Play with the attack and decay to suite.

This could be handy if you want to fade the vibrato over time whilst you hold a key, modulate glide time or increase the rate or depth of the LFO over time. Also it allows you to free up your modulators for other tasks!
