Chain Reaction is one of the keystone labels in the development in deep / experimental techno music.

A Sub-label of the infamous; ‘Basic Channel’ from Berlin, it was an outlet for artists expanding on the deep, crackling, chord-driven blueprint set by it’s parent label.

Chain Reaction has become a benchmark for the sound some call ‘dub-techno’ but it is much more than this.

The epic chordscapes and swirling textures cover a range of moods, from contemplative ambiance to pulsing, sub-aquatic techno.

We have set one of our Selector’s to mixing a showcase which highlights some of the best music this epic label has to offer.

Many thanks to Chain Reaction / Basic Channel / Berlin – for giving us us such ethereal and forward thinking music.

It would be really, really cool if you could post a tutorial teaching us how to make the Chain Reaction sounds. Much, much appreciated.

Thank you so very much. I'm obsessed with achieving a Chain Reaction/Echospace/Basic Channel kind of sound. I keep working at it, but could use some help. :)

    Might help

Yeah, not so much the chords, but the way the echo is done. Its quite a struggle. I know experimenting is the best, but a little help on things like puting a pre-delayed signal through the Early Reflection mode of a Reverb -> The edit ability of the ER becomes the focus of the reverb. The echospace is connected to delay-pan and ER but what's the best setup? (Ableton or something.) I am almost there but hmmm its hard to get it clean!
